Has it really been three years since that special day?
If you want the full story of our big day with tons of pictures included, you can click here, here, and here.
I don't think that I have ever showed y'all our feature in Mississippi magazine but I'm sure many of you have seen it. {If you're a Mississippian.}
I took a picture of the actual magazine pages because I didn't feel like fooling with the scanner so although you can't read the words, you can still get the jist of the spread!
{This -the upside down picture of the cake- is what happens when you're photographers are not familiar with Mississippi universities and football. Something we laugh about from the day! We just say it's Aaron's initials.}
Three years ago, the theme of our wedding was pretty out of the box in comparison to most traditional southern weddings. Are we "out of the box" people? No, not at all. We simply wanted a day that reflected both of us and our families and that meant dainty and rustic details.
I was a little nervous when we decided to do the boots thing... because I had never seen it before and I am NOT a trendsetter and don't intend to be... but as I was browsing through this year's Mississippi magazine and pinterest and facebook, it was confirmed that we weren't loonies with a different, non-traditional idea. I thought, "Yay! People weren't just 'being nice' when they said the boots were a 'unique cute idea'!"
It was a day of all my favorite colors, my favorite people, Aaron's favorite style, and his favorite people... it was a day that reflected US.
And oh I just thought I loved him then... I even thought I knew almost all there was to know about him...
Three years later, I'm still learning and my appreciation and respect for him has multiplied. As well as annoyances and his irritating habits that drive me CrAzY!! {Don't you worry, he would say the same for me :) }Have these three years been easy? No, not really. We've been stretched out of our comfort zone and have dealt with many bumps in the road along the way... {literally and figuratively}.
God had us right where he wanted us to be that day... He had already seen the bumpy road ahead, and He knew that two travelers would be better than one.
And of course, He was right.
"... Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends..." I Corinthians 13:7-8
Happy anniversary!! Can't believe it has been 3 years since that fun night! Love y'all!
