Berry good

Photobucket

The wild blackberries around here are ripe for the pickin' and we have taken full advantage of their juicy sweetness and the fact that they're FREE!

I will say... you definitely have to "work" for your food here... but the reward(s) is well worth all the thorns in your hands, the "sweat on your brow", and the strain on your back and the stomach ache from eating every other one you pick.

This recipe for Blackberry Cobbler is quite simple... I can always remember it because it's "a cup a cup a cup"...

1 stick of butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 cup SELF RISING flour
1 cup milk
Blackberries {as many as you want!}

While the oven is preheating to 350 degrees, melt the stick of butter in a 13x9 baking dish {or smaller if you have to}.
Meanwhile, whisk together the rest of the ingredients.
Pour the batter in the dish with the melted stick of butter and pour the berries on top.
Bake until golden brown... about 30 minutes or so.
Serve right out of the oven with some Blue Bell vanilla ice cream!

... and you're sure to find that this simple Blackberry Cobbler is berry berry good!
