Hello?
Hey readers!! My record long absence from the blogosphere has finally ended and I do plan to be more "present" from here on out. I must admit, I blog more for myself than anything and that's because I am the "sentimental type" and being able to record all the memories we've made is worth every picture I take and word I type. But I hope that "Our Story" is enjoyable for you to read also! So shall I share a few of the memories and happenings over the past month?
Remember this post about sending my sister off to Africa for three months? Well, time flew by as we knew it would and well folks...
{this is Julie's African tribal name btw}

The eagle has landed.
We made posters and signs {Rocky thought he would try and help too}...
... and cooked a decadent meal of butternut squash soup {Julie's fave}, baked grits with a creamy mushroom sauce topping, spring mix salad with lemon, olive oil and parmesan shavings, and a layered strawberry meringue cake.
Did you see a much prettier photo-styled version of this lovely cake on the cover of Southern Living last month? It is as delicious as it is pretty. However, even on a "dry day" in Alabama the meringue still didn't want to cooperate. Oh well, it was still scrumptious!
And before you award Jess and I with "Sister of the Year" awards, you should see what African goodies Julie brought us home!
And it's so rewarding to know that you're supporting the African women that make them.
School is starting to wind down and exams are this week and next week. I've made all A's so far and I hope the streak continues through exams... why did I not supplement my college classes with community college classes?? The difference {in difficulty}is literally night and day. I have one more class in summer school and then I will have all of my pre-req's for nursing school DONE! Woop Woop!
I've been supplementing my running with P90X workouts. {Plyometrics is my favorite and never fails to kick my butt- literally}. In the pic above I guess I was doing some leg-kicking thing. Rocky thought he'd contribute too...
He tries.
Thanks to the beautiful views I've come accustomed to while working out outside, I'm really not a fan of indoor workouts whether I'm at home or the gym... but the P90 sessions really are legit!
Alright well I think that will wrap it up for today... I have several more things to share with y'all so I will be back soon!
Thanks for reading!
um...excuse me...but your photo of the cake pretty much looked like it should be in a magazine. :) Yall are so beautiful!
