I want to start this post off with a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!
It's kind of fun that our anniversary and Valentines day are one week away from each other! Having run a marathon yesterday and Aaron, a half marathon, we have been carb-loading and relaxing this Valentines Day. Mrs. Vickie {Aaron's mom} gave me a little muffin tin with heart-shaped cutouts, so I decided to doctor up some strawberry muffin mix and make a sweet treat for my valentine {and me}.
I have a lot to catch y'all up on! The blog has been in Wedding Land this past week and now it's time to show y'all some current happenings.
I write to you with severely sore muscles, eaten up with tendonitits, and not to mention I feel like I have been run over by a large truck and the only bad thing is that it didn't put me out of my misery immediately. I know, I know, you are just itching to start training for a marathon now aren't you? I'm giving our marathon weekend in New Orleans its own separate post because dad-gummit it deserves a post all its own!
As you may have picked up on last week, February 7 was our two year wedding anniversary. We decided to spend it at the beach with our best friends Courtney and Clay.
The weather was chilly but beautiful...
Courtney and I ran our long run on Saturday and took a long walk on the beach on Sunday. And no we did not run our long run on the beach... that is tendonitis waiting to happen and I was already suffering from it anyways... Oh the joys of running!
I love sunsets... {if you read the blog, you've probably already figured that out} and I think it's because a sunset is all my favorite colors... Melon, coral, hot pink, orange, etc. God painted a good one this night.
And beignets were delicious the next morning...
Our anniversary weekend was romantic, memorable, hilarious, and a BLAST thanks to our best friends since the eighth grade. We've been through it all together, so why not our two year wedding anniversary weekend?
The weekend before that was spent in Mississippi with Aaron's parents.
We celebrated Mrs. Vickie's birthday!
She loves King Cake and it happens to be "in season" for her birthday...
She blew out her cool candles as we sang to her. It was a fun night! I always bring my camera to take lots and lots of pictures but somehow we get really busy and I don't capture it all. But one thing's for certain every time we visit: Mrs. Vickie and I will be shopping and going to lunch at least one of the days I'm there. That is our thing and we have so much fun. Shopping and eating great food with one of your best friends... It just doesn't get much better than that. I'm so thankful for this woman!
Have I ever told you how romantic and glamorous Aaron and I are?
Nothing is better than a $5 Hot-n-Ready pizza on the road while watching the sun set over the city of Mobile...
And yes we can put away some pizza.
Alright, it is Valentines Day and my lover boy is about to be home from throwing... "Jillia" has been slaving away in the kitchen and it's time to get back to it!
Just so you know... I LOVE you blog readers!!! And I really LOVE to hear from y'all!! Have a very happy valentines day with people you LOVE... romantically or not!
I am beyond impressed at you!!!!!! My little runner.....so awesome Jilly. Hope that you are recovering. Looks like you and Aaron had a perfect weekend and I am jealous you were at the beach.
