This was a weekend to celebrate for many reasons... thanks to this happy couple... and this happy girl {in the pic below}... who happens to be one of my best friends from college... a room mate of three years... yes, she is an important person in my life, and helped fill my college years with more memories and LAUGHTER than I could have ever dreamed of. Her name is Sara Savoy White. Well, I call her "SAYRA".
I hopped in my car on Friday morning and headed west to get on 45. As I was driving, I thought to myself, "Oh my word... this is like being back in college again... I'm driving towards State alone going to see the girls I've lived with for three- really more like four- years if you count being on the same hall in the dorms. {Jane Gray, our California dreamer, couldn't be there and she was dearly missed!} Needless to say, a wave of sentimental emotion swept over me and I thought, "Get your act together! You can boo hoo when she walks down the aisle"... and I did of course. Do memories of your college years tug at your heart strings like they do mine?
The rehearsal dinner was a laid back barbeque-bonfire get together and fun was had by all.
The setting was vintage-country... very Sara.
We thoroughly enjoyed catching up and reminiscing/crying from laughing so hard on some of the highlights of our four years together... Yeah, there's quite a lot to remember. When the wedding was over, we all said to each other, "Wow, I haven't laughed this much in I don't know when!"
We wrote our "speeches" on pieces of fabric that will one day be made into a quilt.
How special will that be?! They were cute hanging on the fence.
The next day was her wedding day... her WEDDING DAY... a day we have talked and dreamed about for so long.
She was so elegant.
She gave us these beautiful little bracelets to wear that had our initials and our apartment number engraved on them... talk about a special gift!
The reception was beautiful, the food was divine, and the dancing was fun. I secretly thought about requesting one of the old rap songs that we used to break it down to during many of our "cleaning turned dance parties" {as in, we would all scrub the apartment with the music blaring and we would get sidetracked by a good Usher/Three Six Mafia/50 Cent song and there goes another dance party!} Good times... good times... But I didn't think Sara could've busted the moves I know she's got in her with a wedding dress on! {Not to mention, she probably would've killed me!}
This weekend was refreshing... good for the soul. We're already scheming how to all get together again. Now that we're all married, we're gonna have to find some other excuse. Where there's a will, there's a way!
Congrats Sara, excuse me- Sayra, and Adam!!
